January, 2008 - J. Andrew Douglas Named Partner With Richardson & Harman, PC

PASADENA, CA  January, 2008 –
 
J. Andrew Douglas, a veteran trial lawyer with extensive experience in handling a broad array of complex business legal matters and litigation, has become a Partner with Richardson & Harman, PC, a Pasadena, CA-based law firm that specializes in business, construction, real estate and employment litigation.

In making the announcement, Managing Partner Kelly G. Richardson said that during the five years Douglas had been with the firm, he has become a major asset to firm clients because of the diversity of his experience and expertise in multiple areas of law.  His practice areas include business, real estate and construction defect litigation as well as financial institutions and banking, commercial lending and common interest development law.  Richardson commented:

“We have learned that our clients with the most complicated cases against the largest law firms are fortunate to be in Andrew’s hands.  His strong legal skills and his intense devotion to his clients have quickly made him indispensable to our corporate clients and to this law firm.”

During his legal career, which spans 14 years and includes service in both the public and private sectors, Douglas served as a Litigation Associate with the Los Angeles law firms of Stroock, Stroock & Lavan LLP and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP.  Before his work in the private sector, he was a Law Clerk for Arizona Court of Appeals Judge Rudolph J. Gerber and a Special Projects Coordinator for Public Counsel, a Los Angeles area public interest law firm.

In addition to various types of business, legal and litigation matters Douglas has also handled in his career: unfair business practices; employment; insurance; entertainment; government; environmental and toxic tort; professional liability and legal malpractice; intellectual property; and personal injury and wrongful death.

Douglas is licensed to practice in California, Colorado and Arizona as well as before the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, as well as the Central, Northern and Southern Districts of California.  In addition to the California, Colorado and Arizona bars, he is a member of the Los Angeles County and Pasadena bar associations.

Douglas has also lectured at the University of Southern California Law Center and Cochise Community College in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

A native of Charleston, IL, Douglas attended the University of California at Los Angeles where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Business Administration and graduated cum laude through the College Honors Program.  He subsequently attended the University of Southern California Law Center where he received his Juris Doctor degree and where he was a research and teaching assistant for Prof. Charles H. Whitebread.

Douglas, who is married and has one child, resides in Pasadena, California. Among his community involvements, he is a volunteer for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses.
