I read your articles every week. Twice you have mentioned the open meeting law, but you still have not addressed secret meetings called Executive Sessions. Our board has been doing it for years and they even tell every one in attendance to go home while they have their private meeting. . .
I live in an upscale HOA in the Inland Empire with several hundred homes. A group of the homeowners requested support from the Board of Directors to formulate a "Neighborhood Watch Program." The board made it clear we will not be allowed to post the "Neighborhood Watch” signs. Does the Board of Directors have the right to refuse the posting of Neighborhood Watch sign?. . .
When voting in an HOA be it elections, or dues increase, and the documents require a member in “good standing,” does this mean they need to be current on their dues, and if they are in collection do they count toward a quorum?. . .
I have just joined my association Board a few months ago. I am just learning the ways and just visited caionline.org. I am sure I will be using that website. My question is: How far in advance does a Board normally receive Board packets before a meeting?. . .
