Kelly G. Richardson is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Richardson Harman Ober PC.  In practice since 1983, Mr. Richardson is a veteran business trial lawyer who is also a statewide leader in real estate and common interest development law.  He has received an AV® Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review rating reflecting the height of professional excellence and recognition for the highest levels of skill and integrity.

Mr. Richardson has prosecuted and defended major claims in construction, corporate and real estate law, as well as claims of breach of contract, franchise fraud, personal injury, unfair competition, wrongful death, breach of fiduciary duty and banking negligence.  In construction litigation, Mr. Richardson has achieved over $55 million in recovery for property owners, and has assisted builders in resolving claims economically and without adverse publicity.  In addition, he counsels residential developers and construction lenders on risk management, and has provided ongoing legal support in more than $150 million worth of construction projects.

Kelly Richardson is heavily committed to the real estate industry.  He serves as legal counsel for several Southern California Associations of Realtors® and is a member of the Legal Affairs Forum of the California Association of Realtors®.  Mr. Richardson is a member and contributing author of the faculty of the Professional Realty Institute, teaching GRI coursework on construction and development issues to more than 600 Realtors® annually.  Mr. Richardson is a popular speaker to Associations of Realtors®, professional real estate organizations and major brokerages and has authored numerous articles on real estate law in local business and trade publications.

Mr. Richardson is a leading advocate for the community association industry.  He served on the Board for six years and was the 2004 President of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and was CAI's 2004 National "Rising Star" award winner.  He is the co-author and co-originator of CAI's California Law Course for Common Interest Development Managers, certified by the Department of Real Estate.  Mr. Richardson is a member of the Executive Committee of the California Legislative Action Committee of CAI, and serves as Legislative Co-Chair. He is the originator and founder of "Community Plus," an annual statewide CAI educational conference.  Mr. Richardson is also active in the California Association of Community Managers (CACM), in which he served for years on its Legal Steering Committee and is a member of its faculty.  He writes a regular column on community association law issues in several Southern California newspapers, reaching approximately one million readers, and has authored numerous articles in regional and national publications.  He authored and presented two full-day seminars on common interest development law, entitled "Establishing and Operating Common Interest Developments in California."

He currently serves as a Settlement Officer for the Glendale Superior Court and is a judicial arbitrator for the Los Angeles County Superior Court.  Mr. Richardson is licensed to practice before all California state and local federal jurisdictions, and is a member of the Los Angeles County and Pasadena Bar associations, Association of Business Trial Lawyers, and the Consumer Attorneys of California.

Prior to founding Richardson Harman Ober PC Mr. Richardson was a Senior Partner in the Pasadena law firm of Barker & Richardson and an Associate with the Los Angeles firms of Anderson, McPharlin & Conners and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

Mr. Richardson attended the University of California at Riverside as a National Merit Scholar, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.  He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California.

He is active in local community affairs, serving on the boards of churches, a private school and the Pasadena Salvation Army, as well as participating for seven years in a weekly homeless outreach in Pasadena.
